Terms of Service
Effective June 9, 2026
The short version: pay $1 a row from a prepaid balance, don't upload patient data, verify results before you rely on them, and credit purchases are final. The long version follows — written to be read.
The service
NPI Finder (the “Service”) resolves National Provider Identifiers for healthcare providers and organizations you describe in uploaded files. For each row, the Service researches public sources — including the CMS NPPES Registry and the open web — and returns a candidate NPI together with a confidence rating, reasoning, and cited sources, or an explicit no-match result.
The Service is operated by NPI Finder (“we,” “us”). It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The NPPES Registry remains the authoritative source of NPI records.
Your account
You need an account to use the Service. You're responsible for the accuracy of the email address on your account, for safeguarding access to it, and for everything that happens under it. Your credit balance and billing history are keyed to your verified email address.
You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service on behalf of a business or professional purpose.
Credits, billing, and credit-backs
The Service is pay-as-you-go. You hold a prepaid credit balance, and each row costs $1.00, deducted from that balance up front when you start a run.
All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account, and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash. Promotional credit (such as the signup bonus or top-up bonuses) likewise has no cash value.
Once a row starts running, its credit is spent. Rows that complete — including rows that return a no-match or ineligible result — are completed work and are not credited back.
As a courtesy, if a row fails to produce any result because of a system error on our side, or because you cancel a run before that row completes, we automatically return that row's credit to your account balance. These returns are service credits applied to your balance only — they are never paid out as cash and do not make credit purchases refundable.
Top-ups are processed by Stripe in amounts between $5 and $1,000. Credits do not expire. Every charge, credit return, and top-up is itemized in the billing ledger inside your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload patient data or any protected health information (PHI) — the Service is built for provider business data only;
- upload data you do not have the right to process, or use results in violation of any law or third-party right;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Service, or circumvent its rate limits, row limits, or billing;
- resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement.
We may suspend or limit accounts engaged in abuse while we investigate.
Results and disclaimers
The Service is a research tool. Results are produced by automated investigation of public sources and are returned with confidence ratings, reasoning, and citations precisely so that you can review them. They are provided “as is,” and we do not warrant that any result is accurate, complete, or current.
You are responsible for verifying results before relying on them — particularly before submitting claims, publishing directories, or making credentialing decisions. Registry records change; the authoritative record is always NPPES itself.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the data you upload and to your exported results. We retain all rights to the Service itself — its software, design, and branding. You grant us a limited license to process your uploaded data solely to operate the Service for you.
Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion by emailing support@npi-finder.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Because credits are non-refundable, any balance remaining at termination for cause is forfeited; if we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can use your remaining balance.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service — including damages arising from reliance on any result.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where practical, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
